City of Industry Launches COVID-19 Testing Reimbursement Program for City Businesses

The program will support local businesses and employees as they return to work by subsidizing the cost of COVID-19 viral and antibody testing for employees

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – Today, the City of Industry launched their COVID-19 Testing Reimbursement Program for businesses located within the City. The new program will provide reimbursement grants for eligible local businesses to subsidize the cost of COVID-19 viral and antibody testing for employees, helping to protect the local workforce while alleviating the financial burdens brought on businesses by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This program continues our City’s commitment to recovery for all of our businesses, workers, and their families,” said City of Industry Mayor Cory Moss. “Robust testing is the most effective way to ensure our businesses can return to work safely and with the health and wellbeing of our workforce and their families in mind. We’re proud to aid in the protection of our community and in the financial recovery of our businesses by providing this program.”

All businesses within the city’s limits and with fewer than 200 employees are eligible for the testing reimbursement program. Once testing is completed, the eligible business will be able to submit their testing expenses for reimbursement. Grants will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis with a one grant per business maximum.

As the economic hub of the San Gabriel Valley, the City of Industry is committed to helping the region recover from the impact of COVID-19. Thus far, in partnership with the Industry Business Council and nonprofit organizations, the City has provided substantial assistance to the local businesses and the community during this crisis.

“We have worked diligently alongside the City to gather feedback from our businesses and assess how we can be of service to them during this time,” said Joanne McClaskey, Executive Director of the Industry Business Council. “This testing reimbursement program is a direct result of these efforts and we will continue to work with our businesses to ensure we’re helping them in every way possible.”

Businesses who wish to apply for the grant can do so by completing an online application and submitting necessary documentation on the City’s website. Applications will be reviewed by City staff and applicants will be notified via email of their status.
