Challenge-Cook
Bros.,
Inc.
combined
three
of
their
operations
(in
Los
Angeles)
into
one
27-acre
headquarters
and
manufacturing
facility
in
the
City
of
Industry.
At
the
time
they
were
the
largest
manufacturer
of
construction
equipment
in
the
west.
In
late
1967
Walter
Carpet
Mills
built
their
200,000
square
foot,
$3
million
carpet
mill
on
10
acres
in
Industry,
billed
as
the
largest
carpet
manufacturing
operation
west
of
the
Mississippi.
